Last Look

What would I choose to see when I
To this bright earth shall bid good-bye?
When fades forever from my sight
The world I've loved with long delight?
What would I pray to look on last,
When Death shall draw the Curtain fast?

I've loved the farewell of the Sun,
Low-lapsing after work well done;
Or leaping from a sea forlorn,
Gold-glad to greet a day new born. . . .
Shall I elect to round my dream
The Sun I hail as Lord Supreme?

Ah no! Of Heaven's shining host,
It is the Moon I love the most;
And if, when I shall cease to be,
God lets me keep one memory
Of loveliness that held me thrall,
The Moon's the one I would recall.

. . . The new Moon fine as pearly clip
From Cleopatra's finger-tip;
. . . The ripe Moon vaulting o'er the trees
As ruddy as a Cheddar cheese;
. . . The late Moon, frail and wanly fair,
Relaxed on silver rocking chair. . . .

But most of all, the Moon intense
With radiant indifference;
So placid, glacid, pure, serene,
Of all perfection proudly Queen. . . .
Oh Mistress Mine, let me adore
Your beauty but one moment more!
One last look . . . Let the Curtain fall,
Then let me look no more at all.

You are the incredible character
Living inside the theater of a thriving cocoon

A colorful harbinger of metamorphosis
Moves from within your illustrious contours

A delicate insulated weave
Pulsating from a silky womb
Gestating aromas of sensitive primacy

You are warm to touch
Moving between fingers
Diffusing between fingerprints

Longing to be explored
Like a forest infused by morning mist

Viscous, throbbing, magical
Opening up to the world of possibility

Fluttering like a butterfly
On excited air

Idea
Drive into the country, find a grassy hill and lie with your partner and look up at the clouds.
Play the kid’s game of looking for shapes in the cloud formations.

If You Were Coming In The Fall

If you were coming in the Fall,
I'd brush the Summer by
With half a smile, and half a spurn,
As Housewives do, a Fly.
If I could see you in a year,
I'd wind the months in balls—
And put them each in separate Drawers,
For fear the numbers fuse—
If only Centuries, delayed,
I'd count them on my Hand,
Subtracting, till my fingers dropped
Into Van Dieman's Land.
If certain, when this life was out—
That your's and mine, should be—
I'd toss it yonder, like a Rind,
And take Eternity—
But now, uncertain of the length
Of this, that is between,
It goads me, like the Goblin Bee—
That will not state—its sting.

I CANNOT live with you,
It would be life,
And life is over there
Behind the shelf

The sexton keeps the key to,
Putting up
Our life, his porcelain,
Like a cup

Discarded of the housewife,
Quaint or broken;
A newer Sevres pleases,
Old ones crack.

I could not die with you,
For one must wait
To shut the other's gaze down, --
You could not.

And I, could I stand by
And see you freeze,
Without my right of frost,
Death's privilege?

Nor could I rise with you,
Because your face
Would put out Jesus',
That new grace

Glow plain and foreign
On my homesick eye,
Except that you, than he
Shone closer by.

They'd judge us -- how?
For you served Heaven, you know,
Or sought to;
I could not,

Because you saturated sight,
And I had no more eyes
For sordid excellence
As Paradise.

And were you lost, I would be,
Though my name
Rang loudest
On the heavenly fame.

And were you saved,
And I condemned to be
Where you were not,
That self were hell to me.

So we must keep apart,
You there, I here,
With just the door ajar
That oceans are,
And prayer,

And that pale sustenance,
Despair!

Unquenchable Desire

as temperatures drop
the crisp air fills me
with thoughts of you

I crave your warmth
tingling down my spine

the familiarity of your aroma
brings a smile to my lips

not just any smile
the deep, "knowing" kind
that reminds me of
hands grasping,
clinging to your heat

like a powdery residue
I'm dry and plain
until you pour into me
and mix with my sweetness

I lick my lips in anticipation
of one sweet taste of you

wanting to feel you pour
over me
onto me
into me

your liquid mixes with mine
and we co-mingle

with every
slow
fingering,
lingering,
probe

my whole body craves it
that deeply satisfying taste

sweet froth forms
like creamy marshmallow treats
floating to the surface

delightful
delicious
deliriously
yours

oh how I long to lap you up
and drink you down
having my fill of your warmth

MMMmmm...

Ahhh...

rich, smooth,creamy hot chocolate

I want more please!

The Heart asks Pleasure—first

The Heart asks Pleasure—first—
And then—Excuse from Pain—
And then—those little Anodyness
That deaden suffering—

And then—to go to sleep—
And then—if it should be
The will of its Inquisitor
The privilege to die—

Sonnet 145: Those lips that Love's own hand did make

Those lips that Love's own hand did make
Breathed forth the sound that said "I hate"
To me that languished for her sake;
But when she saw my woeful state,
Straight in her heart did mercy come,
Chiding that tongue that ever sweet
Was used in giving gentle doom,
And taught it thus anew to greet:
"I hate" she altered with an end,
That followed it as gentle day
Doth follow night, who like a fiend
From heaven to hell is flown away.
"I hate" from hate away she threw,
And saved my life, saying "not you."

In the very near future:

Brian: (Spoken) I, Brian, take thee, Rachana . . .

Rachana: (Spoken) I, Rachana, take thee, Brian . . .

Brian: For richer, for poorer . . .

Rachana: In sickness and in health . . .

Brian: To love and to honor . . .

Rachana: To hold and to keep . . .

Brian: From each sun to each moon . . .

Rachana: From tomorrow to tomorrow . . .

Brian: From now to forever . . .

Rachana: Till death do us part.

Brian: With this ring, I thee wed.

Rachana: With this ring, I thee wed.

Brian (Sings)

Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.

Rachana:
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.

BOTH
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart;
Even death won't part us now.

Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won't part us now
